The Joint Fund for Regional Innovation and Development of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, jointly declared by Guangxi Mangrove Research Center, was approved.
Recently, the National Natural Science Foundation of China released the list of key projects supported by the Joint Fund for Regional Innovation and Development in 2021, and the project “Intelligent Extraction of Mangrove Wetland Changes in Beibu Gulf by High Resolution Remote Sensing and Spatial Optimization of Restoration and Protection Research”, which was jointly declared by Beijing Normal University, Nanning Normal University and Guangxi Mangrove Forest Research Center, was approved to receive funding. Funding. The project is led by Prof. Jiang Weiguo of Beijing Normal University, and researcher Liu Wenai of the Center undertook the project “Research on Effectiveness Analysis and Potential Evaluation of Mangrove Wetland Restoration Process in Beibu Gulf”, with a direct funding of RMB 500,000 yuan.
This project focuses on the strategic needs of mangrove wetland protection and restoration in Beibu Gulf of Guangxi, and aims to reconstruct the spatial and temporal restoration process of mangrove wetlands in Beibu Gulf from 2004 to 2023, excavate and analyze the spatial and temporal change process of mangrove wetland restoration, assess the effectiveness of mangrove restoration, and evaluate the potentials of suitable restoration of mangrove wetlands.
The Joint Fund for Regional Innovation and Development of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) is co-funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and local governments, aiming to give full play to the guiding role of the NSFC, to attract and gather advantageous scientific research forces nationwide, to carry out basic and applied basic research centering on the major needs of the regional economic and social development and focusing on the key scientific issues in regional development, to promote cross-regional and cross-sectoral It will promote cross-regional and cross-sectoral collaborative innovation and promote the enhancement of China's regional independent innovation capability.
