Teachers and students from Geography Science Program, School of History, Culture and Tourism, Guangxi Normal University for Nationalities (GNNU) visited us.
At the Center Mini Coastal Wetland, Zhou Hao Lang explained to the students and teachers what is coastal wetland and what are the characteristics of coastal wetland in Guangxi. The students were interested and infected by the realistic atmosphere of the simulated microclimate.
In the lobby of the Science Laboratory Building, Zhou Hao Lang introduced the scientific research priorities of the center to the students and teachers. Under the guidance of Zhou Hao Lang, the students visited the Coral Museum. Facing the colorful corals and coral fish in the aquarium, the students were dazzled and asked a series of questions in a series of questions, to which Zhou Hao Lang gave vivid answers one by one.
Coming to the specimen exhibition hall on the 4th floor of the Science Laboratory Building, the students seemed to enter the labyrinth of coral, they were amazed at the colorful coral, and marveled at the ability of nature to create things. Starting from the scientific paintings of white bone loam, Zhou Hao Lang explained to the students the ecological importance of important marine ecosystems such as mangroves, seagrasses and coral reefs, as well as their connection with human beings. From the story of the dugong's departure from Guangxi waters, he described the ecological impacts of seagrasses' changes over the decades, which inspired them to think about the protection of ecological environment.
After finishing the visit in the center, Zhou Hao Lang accompanied the teachers and students to the seaside of the lower village to experience the mangrove forests closely, and the teachers and students who had never seen the mangrove trees sighed with emotion at the magic of the sea. Orb strand window crabs, beckoning crabs, square star worms, clams, green clams, white bone loam fruits and other physical objects, in Zhou Hao Lang's narrative, so that the students have a scientific understanding. From the change of sea and land to the construction of ecological civilization, through Zhou Hao Lang's on-site explanation, the ecological image and function of mangrove forests have been gradually imprinted in the minds of students.
In just half a day, the teachers and students of Guangxi Nation Teachers College of History, Culture and Tourism College of geography science majors in the center, in the mangrove forests of the Beihai Sea, cognitively inside the mountains have never seen the coastal world, on the mangrove forests that were completely unfamiliar with the original clear outlines of the cognition. Teachers lamented that stepping out of the classroom and into nature opened another door for students to seek knowledge.
