On June 6, 2024, Guangxi Key Laboratory of Mangrove Protection and Utilization invited researcher Sun Jian, vice president of Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences, to give a special report entitled “Several Thoughts on Declaring Scientific and Technological Achievement Awards”. Qiu Guanglong, vice president of Guangxi Academy of Marine Sciences and director of Guangxi Key Laboratory of Mangrove Protection and Utilization, presided over the presentation, and nearly 20 people from the laboratory were present to listen to it.

Combined with his many years of experience in science and technology awards declaration and evaluation, researcher Sun Jian took the national science and technology awards and Guangxi science and technology awards declaration as an example, and discussed the norms and skills of high-level science and technology awards declaration from the science and technology awards setup, the preparations for science and technology awards declaration, the science and technology awards declaration, the defense of science and technology awards and the evaluation of the important indexes of science and technology awards and so on. It also introduces the core elements supporting the three awards of Natural Science Award, Technological Invention Award and Science and Technology Progress Award. Taking the first prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award “Creation and Application of Dwarf Wheat and Its Efficient Breeding Methods” as a case study, he explained the principles and precautions for writing good scientific and technological achievement award nomination letters in detail. And on how to do a good job of results cultivation talked about their own experience, put forward the results of the award is out of work, written, spoken, answered.

The report has cutting-edge theories, case studies and insights, rich in content and pertinent suggestions, which is a very important guidance for my laboratory researchers to declare national and provincial science and technology awards in the future.
