On January 31, 023, Guangxi Key Laboratory of Mangrove Protection and Utilization held the Second Meeting of the Third Academic Committee and 2022 Annual Meeting online (Tencent Conference No.: 258-857-012), with all 13 members attending the meeting. Prof. Zhang Yihui (Jieqing), Director of the Academic Committee, chaired the meeting. The Academic Committee listened to the report on the progress of the work of the Key Laboratory in the year 2022, the fund topics, and the discipline development planning, etc. The Academic Committee commented on the annual work of the Laboratory, and considered the establishment and conclusion of the fund topics of the Laboratory. Opinions were formed as follows:

1. This year, the laboratory has made outstanding achievements in project establishment, paper publication, results transformation, etc., and its influence has been significantly enhanced; especially, it has achieved excellent results in serving the national and local technical support and so on.

2. Agreed to close 2 systematic topics and 5 open fund topics, and considered and approved 7 systematic topics for project establishment.

Members suggested:

1. further optimize the technical system of mangrove ecological farms in shrimp ponds and actively promote it to the whole country and even Southeast Asia; strengthen the condensation of results and organize the declaration of awards.

2. Promote the top-level design and research on the connectivity of typical marine ecosystems; actively declare major key projects as well as standard establishment and preparation.

3. Take the opportunity of the establishment of Guangxi Academy of Marine Science to strengthen the construction of talent team and external exchanges through multiple ways.
